Lower School Mentor Program

As part of our upper school service learning offerings, 7th and 8th grade students have the opportunity to engage in an array of programs on and off campus.

One offering that our students eagerly look forward to is the LS Mentor Program, introduced by our 8th grade dean in recent years and open only to 8th grade students. In this program, 1-2 upper school students are paired with one lower school student once a week for a trimester. From an 8th grader's perspective, it's an opportunity to share with a younger student the kindness, respect, and encouragement they received during their early Cathedral School years. From a lower school student's perspective, it's a chance to receive some homework help, study tips, and, most of all, to make a lasting friend.

If there are any lower school families interested in pairing their child with an 8th grade mentor, please email your preferred days of the week to  Mr. Jonathan Pirnia by Saturday, October 14. The LS Mentor Program is offered each trimester. Another invitation will go out in November for the second trimester.
