Arts at Cathedral

The arts truly come alive at The Cathedral School. They are fully integrated into the curriculum and celebrated for their inherent beauty and value. Walk our hallways at any time, and you will see inspiring student artwork on display. You will hear the sounds of our Choristers and our trombone and clarinet ensembles practicing their crafts. In the spring, you are likely to witness our young dramatic actors rehearsing for the traditional Greek Play and Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night.

Students take advantage of New York City’s vast resources in order to broaden their cultural literacy. Trips to Lincoln Center, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Cloisters museum and gardens (among many others) enliven concepts learned in class, cementing the knowledge students gain and ensuring its lasting power in their memory.
