Alumni Spotlight: Hannah Eisner '09
Many of you might have heard or read in the New York Times about TheChrista Project: Manifesting Divine Bodies exhibition currently installed at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine. You might not know that Hannah Eisner, Cathedral School alumna from the class of 2009, and now a senior at Wesleyan University, is the in-house co-curator of the Christa show, having worked as an intern at the Cathedral since 2015. Christa, which was originally displayed in the Cathedral in 1984 but was removed after it was deemed too controversial, and 21 other works, are on view now until March 12, 2017. In the exhibition catalog, she writes about her time at Cathedral School: “I remember my early years here as a thorough welcome to our world of religious and cultural diversity and the stories that comprise it. We were encouraged to celebrate the complexities of history and our personal relationships to it, which meant we had to address the bad with the good and the gray areas in between.” Congratulations to Hannah for her excellent work.
