Cathedral Unlucky in Bid to Defeat Town

Ben Ruskin
The Cathedral Cougars came into their game against the Town School hoping to get their record to 2-2. Town started strongly and got a great goal from one of their strikers to give them a 1-0 lead. The shot flew past the goalkeeper, Youbin Kim, and into the top corner. Youbin kept Cathedral in it midway through the first half as Town piled on the pressure. He made two brilliant saves, diving to clear the ball for a corner both times. His saves gave Cathedral life, and the Cougar attack got numerous opportunities but failed to execute. In the second half, the Cathedral defense stifled Town and chances were few and far between for either team. Cathedral piled on the pressure in the closing minutes but could never get a shot on target to challenge the goalkeeper. The final whistle blew and the Cougars were clearly disappointed to lose a game in which they probably deserved to win.  Final Score: Town School 1-0 Cathedral.
