3rd Grade Immigration Podcast
Students in the 3rd grade produced and voiced a new podcast called The Cathedral School Immigration Podcast which can be found on Spotify. The project supplemented the students’ curriculum on immigration and migration, and it includes eight episodes featuring eight different members of the Cathedral faculty and staff.
The faculty and staff members who were featured were Mr. Ramos, Dr. Anagnostopoulou, Mr. Follini-Press, Ms. Ahmetaj, Mr. Solesi, Ms. Jasinska, Mr. Flores, and Ms. Mansfield. Each shared their stories about immigrating to the United States from several different countries, including the Dominican Republic, Greece, England, Kosovo, Nigeria, Poland, and Mexico.
“It was a great experience doing the podcast with the students,” said Mr. Solesi. I really enjoyed it, and it gave the students better insight about many of the people they see on a daily basis.”
Thank you to Ms. Benitez, Ms. Johnston, and Ms Brooks for all of their help putting together this incredible project, and thank you to Ms. Solis who managed all the recording and editing to make the podcast ready for release on Spotify. View photos from the project in the right-hand column.
