Convocation Evensong

Our community gathered together on Wednesday, September 23 for our annual Convocation Evensong, a beautiful service marking the beginning of our school year. The afternoon opened with a warm welcome from Head of School Erica Corbin, followed by Opening Sentences read by Cali M.'34 and a Song of Faith led by Upper and Lower School music teachers Ms. Mannarino and Ms. McGetrick.

Our new chaplain, the Reverend Canon Dr. Herschel Wade, offered the opening prayer, and students Ryan C.'27 and Miles M.'31 read from the Book of Proverbs and the Holy Gospel. Following the Homily from Reverend Canon Dr. Wade, the community joined together in the hymn "This Little Light of Mine" and the Lord's Prayer.

The service continued with Prayers of the People led by Evan Sommers, and the Collects read by Sophie M.'27 alongside 7th and 8th grade math teacher Ms. Claire Schwettmann. The congregation was moved by an anthem of "America the Beautiful," before closing with a final prayer and hymn.

Thank you to all who participated in and attended this meaningful start to our school year!
