7th Grade Visits the Islamic Cultural Center

written by Madeleine B. '19  & Sabine B. '19
Yesterday, the seventh grade classroom was given the opportunity to visit the Islamic Cultural Center of New York. We were able to observe a prayer during their daily routine of going to the mosque, and we were able to talk to the person who led the prayer. During the prayer, everyone had to take off their shoes and the girls, who had their own section, were divided by a curtain, and also had to wear headscarves. At the end, we had a question and answer session with the leader of the prayer. Overall, we had a great experience learning about the Islamic Cultural Center of New York and learning about the daily lives of so many people and their cultures.
