Convocation for the New 2022-2023 School Year

Convocation has been defined as “the action of calling people together for a large formal assembly.” After two years of audience restrictions, today’s Convocation was truly that—open to the entire community and back inside the spectacular Cathedral of St. John the Divine.

As is The Cathedral School tradition, kindergarten and 8th grade students processed together in pairs to initiate the service. They represent the beginning and the culmination of a Cathedral education. After some opening lines by kindergartner Miles ‘31, the program continued with prayers, student readings, songs, a performance by the Choristers, an address by Head of School Erica Corbin, and a closing prayer by 8th grader Tess ‘23.
