Springing Back to Cherished Traditions

Springing Back to Cherished Traditions
This past weekend saw our community re-establishing several cherished in-person traditions after being on hold for several years. On Friday afternoon, the Run for Fun was held on the Pulpit Green. Students competed in co-ed heats based on grade level and everyone earned medals for competing. Saturday saw the return of our beloved Spring Fair—a gathering of Cathedral families and the extended Morningside Heights neighborhood to enjoy food, drinks, carnival-style games, rides, slides, and souvenirs. On the Upper Playground, students participated in Hoops From The Heart—shooting baskets, hula hooping, and jump roping to raise money for the Absalom Jones Benefit for Financial Aid. Huge thanks go to our tireless Spring Fair Chair Jill Hecker, Co-chairs Maura Rotroff and Sandra Guenther-Clark, Run for Fun Chairs Laura Gallo and Alan Donaldson, and all the staff, faculty, and parent volunteers who made these events an in-person reality again.
