Cathedral History Week
Today is Day 2 of Cathedral History Week, a special celebration of the storied past (and illustrious future) of our school.
“History is so important because it reminds us who we are and where we came from,” said Head of School Marsha Nelson. “At The Cathedral School, we know that history is not just in a book—it’s all around us, especially in the stories and experiences of longtime community members and in the beauty of our building and grounds. At a time when we all find ourselves living through a historic moment in time, I hope you enjoy this look back, and look ahead, at just a few of the many stories that make up Cathedral School history—something we’re all part of.”
Cathedral History Week kicked off on Monday with a showcase of the Cathedral Choristers and continued today with a look at Cathedral Heroes, including Chef Whittle, Mr. Tracy, Mr. Stokes, Ms. Aguilera, Ms. Orsini, and Ms. Brown. The fun continues on Wednesday with a celebration of Women at Cathedral, featuring an interview with one of Cathedral’s first female students and a chat with Ms. Nelson as she reflects on her experience as Cathedral’s first female Head of School. Alumni of all eras will share stories and memories (Tales from the Crypt) on Thursday before Cathedral History Week concludes with World Kindness Day—a key pillar of the Cathedral experience since our founding in 1901—on Friday!
