Spark Outing: Book Culture Storytime
On Saturday, 5th and 6th graders were invited to host story time at BookCulture on 114th and Broadway. They met across the street at Morningside Library a half hour before the event to select children's books and rehearse together. After our first round of readings, we discovered our audience's appreciation of Mo Willems, and so we enthusiastically responded with readings of Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus and a hefty smattering of Elephant and Piggie books. Our students joyfully supported each other and did a wonderful job sharing their stories!
Spark Outings are monthly opportunities, sponsored by Student Council, for Upper School students to collaborate on a service project together. Here is our updated calendar of Spark Outings to Book Culture:
Saturday, February 16: hosted by 6th and 7th graders Saturday, March 9: hosted by 7th and 8th graders Saturday, April 6: hosted by 8th and 5th graders
