LS Teachers Present at National Math Conference

The Cathedral School made it's mark in Washington, DC this April. Mike Demianiuk, 1st grade teacher, Maria Peneda, kindergarten teacher, and Yojairy Sands, K-2 Math Specialist, went to the nation's capital to present at the national meeting of the National Council for Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM). They had previously presented at the regional conference this past fall in Chicago. During this second round of presentations, the teachers talked about a first grade geometry unit and the different ways students engage in estimation from kindergarten to second grade. Thousands of educators from all over the country attended the conference and each of the teacher's workshops hosted about 30 attendees.
