Welcome to The Cathedral School!
I am thrilled to invite you to learn about The Cathedral School through our website.
The Cathedral School is set in the heart of a 13-acre campus unlike any other in Manhattan. Within this unique environment, we cultivate our students’ natural curiosity into a passion for lifelong learning. We believe in a rigorous academic program that blends innovation and tradition, from the 3rd grade’s sophisticated Lego Robotics projects to the robust Latin program in our Upper School. From kindergarten through 8th grade, our dedicated faculty challenge and support Cathedral students as they grow into critical thinkers, thoughtful scholars, and culturally competent leaders.
Great schools never stop evolving; they prepare students for our ever-changing world. Just this year, we are completing work on our Expansion Project, which includes 12,000 square feet of new and renovated spaces. In our state-of-the-art Makerspace, Cathedral students will experiment, design, and innovate. Right next door, in a light-filled Library and Media Center, students will explore their literary passions and develop research skills. New and expanded common areas will provide additional spaces for dynamic student and teacher collaboration.
A sense of community is essential to life at The Cathedral School. We welcome each child as a whole person, with respect for their individuality and worth. For our students, participation in our nationally-recognized Identity Curriculum allows them to broaden perspectives and celebrate identity, culture, and the wonder of human diversity. Cathedral students develop empathy and confidence to think critically about the societal structures around them and their responsibility to be informed and active citizens. Upper School students build leadership skills, giving them confidence and deep reserves of resilience to use as they enter their high school years. At every level, their Cathedral foundation shines through.
I encourage you to learn more about our remarkable school. You can take a virtual tour, watch videos highlighting our incredible, energized community, and take a close look at daily academic life through our curriculum guide. I hope you will get to know the wonder of a Cathedral School experience.
