Run for Fun

Friday, May 10, 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Register for the Spring Fair Run for Fun! The $25 entry fee entitles students to one of the Spring Fair t-shirts designed by our talented 7th Graders. The annual Run for Fun will be held Friday, May 10, on the Cathedral Close. Run for Fun registrants should proceed to the Pulpit Green as soon as they are dismissed from school. All Lower School registrants MUST be accompanied by an adult. The race will begin with Lower School grades on the Pulpit Green.

Registration is available online via credit card payment. To register for Run for Fun online, please click here

Run for Fun registrants will have their t-shirt and numbers distributed to them in the classroom on Friday the 10th. Questions? Please contact Run for Fun Co-Chair Laura Gallo (laura.e.gallo@gmail.com).

Note:
After School classes will take place on Friday, May 10, despite the concurrent Run for Fun. All the Friday instructors have been informed that their classes will either be small or will have students joining late. Some instructors have agreed to adjust their projects for the day to accommodate the latecomers. It is your choice whether to send your children late or to skip the class. Please send an email to After School coordinator Monika Jasinska (mjasinska@cathedralnyc.org) if your child will miss some/all of the Friday After School. All Lower School After School Run for Fun participants must still have an adult present.

Spring Fair Day

Saturday, May 11, 12:00 PM. - 4:00 PM.
This is a day full of fun for the whole community: games, rides, food, prizes, face-painting, bake sale, and more! All friends and family are welcome!

Wristbands: Wristbands will be available in advance for $35 and for $40 the day of the fair. Wristbands provide unlimited visits to the Bounce House, Accelerator Slide, and Turbo Tubs.

Tickets are $1 apiece or 22 for $20. Tickets are needed for games or for rides if you do not have a wristband.  Food, snacks and drinks can be purchased with tickets or with cash.

You can buy wristbands and tickets here. Wristbands and tickets bought online will be delivered to the child’s class on the Friday (May 10) before the fair.

Food: We'll have empanadas, chicken fingers, and pizza from our neighbors, V&T. A selection of chips, soda, juice, sparkling water and beer will also be on hand. Tasty snacks for sale will include ice cream, cotton candy, and popcorn, and bake sale items.

Hoops From The Heart: The Cathedral School’s 11th annual Hoops From The Heart will take place on Saturday, May 11, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM on the Upper Playground during Spring Fair! All are invited to participate in this student-driven fundraiser, supporting the Absalom Jones Benefit for Financial Aid. Hoops will be moved inside if there is inclement weather.

Due to space limitations, there is no rain backup location this year. The Fair will go on in light sprinkles, or passing showers, but not heavy rain.  Questions? Contact Jamie Becker at jamiesroth@gmail.com.

Bring Your Own Water Bottle to Spring Fair

Go Green! Please bring a reusable water bottle to Spring Fair! As part of PEACOCK's efforts to “green" the fair, there will be water stations around the Close for families to refill water bottles. Cups will not be provided for water. Our planet thanks you for your GREEN cooperation! A limited number of Cathedral water bottles will also be available for purchase.

Bake Sale

Love to bake? We need you! Please sign up to provide a nut-free baked good for Spring Fair Day! Signups will be online here. There will not be tins provided this year, so please bring disposable (recyclable!) containers. Please drop off bake sale items by 11:30 AM on the day of the fair at the bake sale tent. Questions: Contact Jessica Kirshner at jessicakirshner@yahoo.com.

Volunteers Needed for Spring Fair and Hoops

Spring Fair can't happen without the involvement of our fabulous parents! We need all hands on deck to make this great day for our community run smoothly. Our goal is for every family at Cathedral to take one volunteer spot per adult in their household. There are many options from which to choose, and you can sign up to work a shift with a friend or your child. The volunteer signup is divided into the Run for Fun (Friday, May 10), the Spring Fair rides/games/tickets, etc. (Saturday, May 11) and Hoops from the Heart (at the Spring Fair). Be sure to sign up early and often!  If we don’t have enough volunteers, we have to close down some games - no sad children’s faces please!  If you have questions about the volunteer sign-up, please contact Alexa Shore at ajshore@hotmail.com.

Health and Safety

Spring Fair will be held entirely outdoors on the Cathedral Close. We will adhere to the Cathedral and Cathedral School COVID protocols in place at the time of the Spring Fair.
