Cathedral's 30th Kwanzaa Celebration

Last Friday afternoon, Cathedral School celebrated Kwanzaa and honored the woman who started this beautiful tradition 30 years ago, Ms. Linda Brown. After a delicious finger-licking luncheon of fried chicken, barbecued ribs, collard greens, macaroni and cheese, and corn bread, the entire school community took part in a spirited, thoughtful program of music, reflections, and art, in addition to "The Calling of the Names," and "The Seven Principles of Kwanzaa." Special thanks to the POSOC Kwanzaa Coordinators Shameka Brown Barbosa, Arielle Cribb, and Lisa Jones Brown and the many faculty, staff, administrators, students, parents, and friends who made this event a glorious celebration of African identity.
