Tuition for the 2014-15 school year is $40,350, including lunch and fees. Tuition is adjusted each year.

The Cathedral School of St. John the Divine partners with Tuition and Data Services (TADS) to determine a family's financial need.

Applying for Financial Aid at The Cathedral School
Financial aid is no longer available for 2014-15. The steps below are for applicants for 2015-16. (These dates DO NOT apply to current families, who should contact Peter Maas for more information.)

Step 1: Indicate your intention to apply for financial aid on the admission application

Submit the application for admission by December 1, 2014. When prompted, indicate that you intend to apply for financial aid.

Step 2: Complete the online application
Complete the financial aid application online by clicking here. You may submit your financial aid application between October 1, 2014, and January 5, 2015.

Step 3: Send requested paperwork to TADS
Send copies of your most recent federal income tax return, W-2 and 1099 forms, and year-end business statements (if applicable) to TADS no later than January 5, 2015.

Important Note: All financial aid applications must be submitted by January 5, 2015. Applications for financial aid submitted after that date will not be considered.

Step 4: School Review and Notification
The Cathedral School’s Financial Aid Committee reviews each request for financial assistance and determines the financial aid grant based on the family’s need and the school’s budget. The Admission Office will include notice of financial aid grants with the admission decision notification.

Financial Aid Policy

The Cathedral School is committed to a socioeconomically diverse student body. All financial aid is need-based, and nearly 40% of students receive some level of assistance.

Families who require tuition assistance must apply for financial aid when they apply for admission. Applications for admission and financial aid are considered independently, but admission decisions and financial aid awards are communicated at the same time. Only due to a significant, unexpected change in circumstances (such as job loss) will consideration for financial aid be granted at a later date, including subsequent years, if the request is not made with a student's initial application for admission.
